Dad was dying at the VA hospital when $1,775.60 was stolen in 17 transactions from a third world country, and after 10 months of argument, we will never see the funds because 'it was his responsibility to let them know and it took too long.' Stay away from Money Network; your money isn't safe, and you will never see it again!

I received an email dated 2/20/25 that my check was mailed; it will take 14 days. It is now 3/19, and I have not received it.
I sent all documents requested to keep my account open, but they closed it anyway. Now they say that checks were mailed out late. I have to wait another week. I am requesting to void that check and issue a new check; this will take 5 days to void and then 14 business days to reach me.
I have been with them for at least 15 years and have never had an issue. I advise please do not use them. As long as you deposit, they are good, but to receive your money in a check is ridiculous.
I will be sending them to the BBB, and my attorney is definitely involved. My check is for 3683.00; I cannot afford this.

Absolutely not!
This ordeal has caused extreme financial and emotional stress. Money Network has consistently failed to provide clear information or a meaningful resolution, instead hiding behind rigid and nonsensical protocols.
In June 2024, I received my disability benefits from EDD and opted for the Money Network Debit MasterCard instead of direct deposit, a choice I now deeply regret. After activating the card and making one successful purchase, it was promptly declined at another store.
When I contacted Money Network customer service at 800-684-****, I was told my card was locked due to 'suspicious activity.' No specific details were provided, and I was directed to contact EDD.
After multiple failed attempts to reach EDD by phone, I was forced to visit their office three times. Finally, EDD confirmed there was no fraud or suspicious activity and that my benefits had been issued correctly. The problem was entirely with Money Network.
By November 8, after months of delays caused by my work schedule, limited EDD office hours, and Money Network’s unhelpful service, I contacted Money Network again. I requested a replacement card or direct deposit of my funds, but they refused, citing their protocols.
Instead, they informed me my account would be closed, and a check would be mailed via USPS within 10-14 days.
By November 22, no check had arrived. Another call revealed the check was mailed on November 12 but delayed by the holiday. I was told I could void the check and restart the 10-14 day process or wait until November 25 to see if it arrived. At this point, my financial situation was critical – I was running out of money and depleting my savings.
On December 9, I spoke with a supervisor who was dismissive, unprofessional, and dismissive of my concerns.
She interrupted me repeatedly and gave a generic explanation of their protocol. She said voiding the missing check would take 3-5 days, followed by another 10-14 days for a new check. My request for expedited shipping or certified mail was flatly refused. Her suggestion to return funds to my closed account was nonsensical, given that my Money Network app showed a $0 balance and confirmed a check had been issued on November 13.
When I requested escalation, she placed me on hold and sarcastically claimed management was unavailable.
She offered to leave a message for a callback in 24-48 hours and ended the call with, 'Thank you for using Money Network,' before hanging up.

Beware of Money Network Debit MasterCard issued by My Banking Direct (Flagstar Bank, N.A.).

I used the ATM at Wawa in Orlando, Florida, and it must have been a scamming device. They took my money and transferred it to a Cash App account that is not mine and not on my account.

Horrible customer service
Somehow my pin was changed. I have no clue how that even happened so I called to try and fix the issue.
First guy I talked to named CARLOS was absolutely unhelpful.
2nd guy I talked to SHAWN or SEAN??
Spelling unknown was not only absolutely unhelpful. But he literally lied and said he was putting me on hold and hung up on me.
These customer service representatives are not only unhelpful but horrible.
Waiting on call back #3 to hopefully get someone to help me to change my pin back.
This is a complete racket. And so glad my disability is temporary because if I had to deal with this any longer than I do I would lose my mind and patience.
Who hires these people??

I rarely submit reviews, but I had to take a minute to discuss this primitive, ghetto, inefficient, non-user-friendly, generic 'service' of Money Network. So bad, I can't even dignify their name with capital letters.
This is 2025. Consumers are doing a lot of online shopping and business...not to mention, there are some things only accessed online, i.e., Uber, Lyft, etc. I cannot use this card for little to nothing. You can be stranded in the middle of *** with thousands on your card, but if there is no ATM in sight, you won't be going anywhere.
I have tried to wire money to my other accounts to no avail. I cannot order food...and customer service is disgustingly horrible and uninformed...not to mention unhelpful and rude. I hate EDD disgraced us with utilizing this useless, so-called service. I wish MN would just disappear for real.
Even Netspend is far better, that, and so many others.
Why did our state go to the bottoms to find a replacement..bring BofA back! I hate Money Network!

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL
First their website is down therefore can't access your acct. Then you aren't able to create an acc on the app unless you create one online.
I called on a Saturday w/ my mom on the line trying to figure what is going on with her card. After crossing an obstacle I was told she had to re-activate after not using for 190 days. This Monday morning I called the automated to transfer her funds to her bank acct, but system said it couldn't be done. Finally got through to a rep.
He said he couldn't talk on a 3 call (conf call). I asked why when I just did a couple of days ago, and he hung up on me. I believe his name was John. This is utterly ridiculous what ppl have to go through to access their money.
They are already on limited income and to have to go through BS is infuriating.
EDD needs to find a better way. GET RID OF MONEY NETWORK.

Absolutely, this is the worst company out there! I'm not sure why EDD moved to using them!
I can never seem to transfer funds and they clearly have no intention of fixing their extremely poor product. The support staff doesn't have a clue.
They just suggest alternatives to the problem, which are not practical for me personally. It's like they're just holding your money hostage.

I received my card in the mail. Called the number on the card and it said invalid entry.
Then I called. Was on hold for over an hour!
The *** that answered said my card was invalid and that they have to mail me a check!
Ive been waiting for weeks to receive this card and get my money! Now theyre making me wait more!!!

I transfer money set up from the money network card, Nad transfer say it's done but take days to get into your checking account, I, have fees for non sufficient funds...it take to many days to reach your account, already trying to get better , to return to work, and you followed by this system not cool

How do you expect anybody to live? I have been waiting for a check since October; this is ridiculous.

This is quite literally the worst company I have ever worked with. I haven't been paid for five weeks, as of today.
I'm tired of this company, waiting every Friday to see if I have any money added to the card, and guess what? No! There is no money!
I truly hope the worst happens to this service. I hope their families starve.

Both cards are issued by MetaBank, Member FDIC. There are no start-up and monthly fees for Money Network Service. Cardholders may pay bills using their Money Network Account. There is also a possibility to make in-store, gas station, online, and phone purchases with the Card. All purchases are limited to the Money Network Account balance. sending an update, I called them today(3/20/25) because i have not rec'vd my check. i stayed on the line for 11minutes waitiing for the supervisor, it was the same supervisor i have spoke to for 4 times.
I was told that an emailed ws sent to them stating that the checks were delayed, they were not mailed on the date in the email that i rec'vd (02/20/25), i did request a copy of the email that the supervisor rec'vd, but i ws told that they cannot send it out (naturally i was going to get that reponse) I was told to wait 10 more days, i ws told the 10th day will be 3/26/25 (I really do not have a choice) she also expressed that she will talk to anyone if there was any issues i had with bill collectors. Bill collectors are not my issue this is my money which is due to me.
i am waiting until Wednesday (no choice). Will send update DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MONEY NETWORK
